JOINT DECLARATION
on the foundation of the network

The internationalisation of our community and our economy requires new knowledge, competence and talents. Expertise does not suffice anymore. The new key qualifications are intercultural competence and organising ability, linked to the competence to communicate in international networks and to make them sustainable.

Women are still less represented in economy, trade association and in public administration than men. The government of Lower Saxony would like to change this incontrovertible fact positively. That is why the government of Lower Saxony supports the transnational network of businesswomen and female executives in the European Union (EU).

The European Information Centre of Lower Saxony, the entrepreneurs association of Lower Saxony in cooperation of the women’s council of Lower Saxony and the representatives of the European Commission in Germany have invited to the congress "Cross-cultural Competence" in Hannover on November 5th/6th 2008. They would like to have a discussion with involved partners from Germany, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands about questions concerning intercultural competence. Furthermore they intend to found the "high female performers"-network on that day.

The "high female performers"-network is to provide an opportunity to businesswomen and female executives in economy, trade association and in public administration to strengthen their intercultural competence by mutual exchange of their experience. Furthermore the network is to encourage the dialog about career advancement of business women between EU members and the regions.

The European Information Centre is in charge of the website
www.high-female-performers.eu.
In the future you will find updated information on this website. We (the signatories) declare our attendance to use the "high female performers"-network for the intensification of our cooperation and to advance the network.
